Geotechnical Engineering Basics - REGISTRATION DEADLINE EXTENDED

You are invited to attend some valuable training.  The WEAU Collection Systems Committee is pleased to offer a geotechnical engineering basics class.  You will learn what to look for on a soils report, soils types, compaction methods and efforts.  You will also tour a geotechnical lab to see how a gradation and proctor is performed, plus other types of soils test.  Included with the training is a delicious lunch and the opportunity to share experiences with your colleagues.

Class Instruction:    Group 1: 9:30 am – 11:45 am – Jay McQuivey – AGEC –
                                   Introduction to Soils, Soil Classification, What to Look For in a Soils Report, Compaction Methods, Compaction Effort, Etc.
                                   Group 2: 9:30 am – 11:30 am – Tour Geostrata Lab - 14425 S Center Point Way, Bluffdale, UT 84065
                                   11:30 am – 11:45 am – Drive back to SVSD
                                   
                                   11:45 am – 12:30 am – Lunch
                                  
                                   12:30 pm – 2:45 pm – Groups switch locations
                                   2:45 pm – 3:00 pm – Q/A for Consultants
